We have all been guilty of ordering a side of Korean Fried Chicken at KBBQ. But what happens when you’re craving Korean Fried Chicken on your lunch break? After work? Or at 11pm after a night out with friends. We heard your cries Perth and the simple answer…Chimek. Chimek was born to bring amazing Fried Chicken to hungry mouths by showing love to traditional flavours such as Honey Soy Garlic and Gochujang, and pushing the bounds with contemporary creations such as Bulgogi and Tabasco. Oof.
Chimek being a portmanteau, combines the word ‘chicken’, with the Korean word for beer, ‘mekju’. Chicken + beer = the ultimate combo. Perfect right?
What started out as humble beginnings for 4 mates in a small store in Fremantle, has now turned into four stores across Perth with the hopes of spreading the love to more Australians. Fusing together Korean flavours and all-time American favourites, Chimek is the perfect marriage of 2 worlds.
